Intentional Torts and Injuries
A person who intentionally causes harm to another should be held responsible for all damages caused to the injured person. Whether it be assault and battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, or any other type of intentional tort, the person at fault must compensate the person they injured. That the person has already been or will be criminally held responsible by the government is not determinative of the person’s culpability in a private action.
